Dr. Miller Smith
Dr. Miller Smith was born and raised in Calgary, and obtained his Dental degree at the University of Alberta. He sought additional Hospital Dentistry training in San Antonio, Texas before undertaking further postgraduate specialty training. At the University of Michigan he received his Medical degree and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery training. He has recently completed a fellowship post in Head & Neck Oncology, Microvascular Surgery and Craniofacial Reconstruction overseas in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Dr. Smith is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is actively involved in the Cleft lip and Palate/Craniofacial and Multidisciplinary Dental programs at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, and on the Head and Neck Tumour Board at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. Dr Smith is the former director of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of the General Practice Residency Program at the Foothills Medical Centre Dental Clinic in Calgary, training the Hospital Dentistry residents, and teaches undergraduate dental students and Orthodontic residents at the University of Alberta. He has published numerous articles and co-authored several textbook chapters with a special interest in Tissue Engineering.
